Kartsport Manawatu is very pleased to announce that we have four Australian drivers confirmed for the 2012 Twilight Trans-Tasman Challenge to be held at the Manawatu Toyota Raceway, Palmerston North on Saturday 18th February.

Intrepid driver Lane Moore, the current New Zealand Rotax Max Heavy champion, will be returning to defend the 1st round title he won last year, and joining him for the first time is the exceptionally quick Tyler Greenbury in Rotax Light.  Tyler was a member of the Australian team which won the teams section of the 2012 Rotax Max Grand Finals.

Also competing in Junior Max is Lachie McHugh who is a consistent front runner in Australia and a driver to watch out for.

Junior Restricted will be one of the biggest fields expected, and full of quick locals, but adding to the mix will be the very accomplished Reece Sidebottom who has earnt himself a reputation of being a very fast driver, and will no doubt be the one to beat.

Club President Tony Drysdale said "we are very happy with the calibre of the Australian drivers, and hope to confirm three more drivers next week including a very established Arrow driver."

The best of Australia is coming, let's make sure NZ"s best drivers are there to race them.

So get your entry in and be part of New Zealand's premier twilight meeting.

New Grade 4

Race Officials Training

Following requests from Clubs at the 2011 National Conference, good progress has been made developing postion descriptions and a training programme for the new Grade 4 Race Official position.

The Grade 4 Race Official position will be the first step on the Race Official ladder as well as being a Grade for those people who only have a desire to officiate at Club Day events. Hopefully this streamlined programme will help attract more people into officiating at local events.

A pilot Training Seminar for Grade 4 RO's will be held in Wellington on Saturday 25 February 2012. If you, or someone you know, are interested in training for this position please contact your Club ASAP. Positions at the Seminar are limited to 15 people.
